OUR MISSION
The mission of the Jewish Community of Florence (J.C.F.) is to support, enhance and sustain people and projects for the Jewish Community by promoting Jewish learning, culture, heritage and community life.
WHAT WE DO
We offer an important connection for all Jews to feel at home in Florence and remain close to their heritage, our community offers a complete range of educational activities and community services including a Jewish Day Care and Preschool, Talmud Torah, Youth Groups, a Library, Archives, Beth Midrash, a Jewish Nursing Home, as well as religious services such as Brit Milot, B’nei Mitzvah, Weddings, Mikveh and Jewish Cemeteries. The J.C.F. also organizes cultural events open to the public and promotes kosher food for visitors.
WHO WE ARE TODAY
The J.C.F. has just under 1000 members, mainly of Sephardic origin, but also includes Ashkenazi Jews from Eastern Europe, Israel and the United States. The congregation is part of the Orthodox Conference of European Rabbis.
